Inspirations

The house is in chaos, I am having my kitchen re-fitted so I have to be on hand for the builders as well as do my own work! The kitchen will be wonderful when it is done, but in the meantime it looks like several world wars have taken place, so I have found refuge in my craft room!

I have been taking inspiration from all sorts of places for these cards, so I can't take all the credit for the design! I saw the lady from Clarity Stamps use the cling film technique to get a spooky background, here is my first go, I quite like it, but I think that it would be worth experimenting with colours - watch this space.

This butterfly and flourish came out better than expected, I made it on the fly having seen something similar in a magazine. I love this flourish, but it is a shame that I can't connect it to make a string if you see what I mean, instead I have to go for one off drama.  The other nice thing about the stamp is that it still leaves a beautiful impression when you just take a portion of it on the side of the card.

These "mountain" cards are again Clarity Stamp inspired.

On this months Craft Stamper magazine there was a watch and sentiment as a freebie, so I used this with some distress inks and a Tim Holtz mask to create the card below.

Matthew's Stamps

Hi, My eldest son Matthew gave me the most beautiful stamps for Christmas (amongst other things) and finally I have a chance to blog the results!

Firstly, here is the catapillar, I have mixed him with another toadstool stamp so he is not on his own!

\These fairies were sitting on thin air on the stamp, so I gave them a beautiful chair, using the same toadstool stamp.  This gave me a chance to have a go at masking, which I usually avoid!!  The fairies are coloured in using the water colour pencils which were another christmas present (aren't I the lucky girl!!) and then I mica'd the wings to give them a beautiful glint at the card turns.
